Balos beach is located on the Aegean Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 145th place out of 398 beaches in the Northern Aegean region 157 km away from its center, the city of Mytilene. It is one of the beaches of Ormos Koumeikon settlement, just 0.6 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal blue water and light sand & pebble cover, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

The beach is quite long and has a combination of sand and pebbles. There is plenty of space for everyone, and beach bars are available for those who want to indulge. However, it is also possible to find a secluded spot if you prefer. The beach is conveniently located near the road with available parking. While there are some tavernas nearby, it can get quite windy in the afternoon. Nevertheless, the water is clean and refreshing.

We hung out at Princess Tia beach bar for a few hours in the evening. The service was exceptional and the sun beds were fantastic. In case you're wondering about the road leading to the beach, it's in perfect condition.

I really enjoy this beach, especially for snorkeling (which I highly recommend trying). As it is a pebble beach, it's best to wear water shoes when swimming or walking. I've also seen people kayaking here, which looks like a lot of fun. Additionally, there are caves to explore. There are a few establishments near the beach, but you'll have to visit the area to discover them for yourself. Hope to see you there!
