This beach is simply stunning. It's the kind of place that makes you want to stay forever and forget about all your worries. However, if you're not a fan of crowds, I suggest coming back during the off-season. Trust me, you won't miss the chaotic summer camp atmosphere that seems to attract every student within a 50-mile radius. But hey, at least they bring some liveliness to the place, right?
This particular beach stands out as the finest on the island, boasting a charmingly small pebble shore. However, visitors should remain aware that the beach can become quite warm due to its dark composition, and the path leading to it may prove somewhat perilous. Exercise caution when journeying here.
The shore boasts a unique charm with its black volcanic sand and clear, inviting waters. However, visitors should be aware that natural shade is scarce and the sun can be intense, especially on the dark sand. This secluded spot is a haven for nature enthusiasts and nudist bathers seeking a peaceful retreat. To reach the beach, a scenic footpath leads south/south-east for approximately twenty minutes from the free car park near the Oasis tavern. While the path may be narrow and slippery at times, the journey is well worth it to experience the untouched beauty of this area. During the summer months, campers can be seen residing upstream in wooden and fabric structures along the ridge below the volcano.
This beach is an absolute gem, offering a serene and tranquil atmosphere that is unmatched by any other beach on the island. The dark gray and black sand dunes add a unique touch to the already breathtaking scenery. Access to the beach can be achieved by either taking a leisurely stroll along the cliff-side path or by swimming from Lia. Although the path is mostly flat and sandy, it can be quite narrow in some areas, so caution is advised. The snorkeling experience here is exceptional by Greek standards, with an abundance of diverse marine life to discover. During my visit, I had the entire beach to myself, which made for an unforgettable and peaceful experience.
This stunning beach boasts natural black sand that can become quite hot during mid-day, so it's best to either seek refuge in the refreshing water or slip on some flip-flops. Unlike other beaches, there are no sunbeds or showers, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. It's worth noting that this beach is also welcoming to nudists and campers alike.
