Platana beach is located on the Aegean Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 108th place out of 185 beaches in the Thrace region 78.6 km away from its center, the city of Komotini. It is one of the beaches of Ormos Prinou settlement, just 1.7 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and white sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

This is a wonderful location! The beach is pristine, with shallow and transparent waters stretching for several meters, teeming with an abundance of fish, and yellow sands. You can enjoy the sunbeds and umbrellas at no cost, provided you make a minimum purchase from the bar. Additionally, a free area is available adjacent to the beach. Conveniently, there is free parking located behind the bar. The pine forest enveloping the beach adds to its allure, creating a truly stunning and distinctive environment.

This charming beach exudes a delightful Greek atmosphere that I simply adore. If you're searching for a serene location to unwind and avoid the hustle and bustle of overcrowded beaches, then this is the perfect spot for you. The bar menu is somewhat limited, but the prices are reasonable. However, the bar staff could benefit from smiling a bit more as they appeared a bit grumpy today. 🤷‍♂️ The water's entrance is ideal for children, and the crystal-clear water is simply divine.
