Karathona Beach is located on the Myrtoan Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 45th place out of 401 beaches in the Peloponnese region 40 km away from its center, the city of Trípoli. It is one of the beaches of Agia Paraskevi settlement, just 3.2 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long bay with blue water and brown sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season. Please note that the area nearby is possible for wild camping.

Karathona Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, toilets. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities.

It is disheartening to witness the presence of plastic scattered across the sandy shores. The sight of Greek locals and tourists alike carelessly discarding their waste on the ground is a major concern for the environment. The plastic debris poses a significant threat to the ecosystem, as it will eventually break down into microplastics that can be ingested by birds and aquatic life. This issue must be addressed to preserve the natural beauty of the beach and protect its inhabitants.

I went to the beach in May 2022 and it was great! The sand was brown, which was a nice change from the usual white sand beaches. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this beach to anyone looking for a relaxing day by the water.

I am delighted to give a five-star rating to this incredible beach that is located near Nafplio. The crystal-clear water is incredibly clean and free of rocks, making it perfect for swimming and enjoying the sun. The beach is vast, with plenty of space to relax and unwind, whether you choose to bring your umbrella or not. There are numerous bars and restaurants along the shoreline, providing ample opportunities to grab a refreshing drink or a bite to eat. The shallow water makes this beach an ideal spot for families with young children. We had an excellent experience at the beach bar where we stayed, as the service was prompt and courteous. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were not charged for the umbrella and seabeds, and only for the drinks, which is not always the case at other nearby beaches. Overall, this beach is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable day by the sea.
