It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and light pebble, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. The current situation at the beach is an improvement compared to previous years, but it is not without its flaws. There is a noticeable amount of trash in the estuary, and the beach tends to attract fishermen who may not always show proper respect for the environment.

The beach is a great spot for a walk, but it's unfortunately quite neglected. There is a lot of rubbish around that needs to be addressed. It's a shame that such a beautiful natural area is marred by trash everywhere you look. The municipality should take action to clean it up.

The Asopos river, originating from Kithairona, flows approximately fifty-seven kilometers before reaching Oropos, near the community of Chalkoutsiou. The environmental impact of the river's waters has been a topic of concern in the media for years, with plenty of information available online from various sources. The area near the river resembles a former dump site, with flood debris, garbage, and unknown materials partially buried in the sand. Despite this, some shore anglers continue to fish along the riverbanks. The pollution eventually reaches the southern Euboean Gulf, a popular destination for vacationers, fishermen, and boaters each year.
