The beach is beautiful with ample sand and lovely stones. There is plenty of room to build sandcastles with children or collect seashells. Additionally, beach chairs can be rented at affordable rates. The water is also very pleasant. There is a designated area for playing ball games, and there is even a separate nudist beach. The beach is mostly clean, about 90%. Nearby, you can find food options, ice cream, and restroom facilities, catering to all your needs and desires.
The beach itself is beautiful and invites you to take a stroll. However, apart from that, the name doesn't live up to its promises. At least for now and in our opinion. There is still much room for improvement.
The beach section is a mix of beautiful, well-maintained fine sand and some areas with stones. It also features a long pier. From here, you can enjoy a wonderful view of six lodging villas that have been skillfully restored and were constructed around 1850. The last two villas in the pearl chain of 8 are currently undergoing renovation. Additionally, you can admire the elegant and luxurious Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, although it is quite expensive for a holiday stay. Nevertheless, if you're seeking the utmost comfort, this is the perfect place for you! Along the promenade, you'll find a pizzeria and an ice cream parlor, but unfortunately, there is a fee for parking in the surrounding area. On the beach itself, there are toilets and a snack bar where you can indulge in delicious fish sandwiches. Overall, taking a trip to this beach is highly recommended!
Naturally, it's not a pristine sandy beach, which is also quite rare for German coasts. However, it is a small yet delightful mixed beach. While there may not be much to explore in the vicinity, the most important aspect is present: the sea, the salty air, and above all, tranquility. Whenever we want to avoid large crowds of tourists, this is our go-to destination. Heiligendamm is primarily geared towards spa guests and those seeking a more subdued atmosphere. I often come across claims that the beach is unclean, but that's completely unfounded. If there happens to be some vegetation or driftwood on the beach, that's simply a part of nature. If you're looking for a smooth surface and crystal-clear water, perhaps a swimming pool would be more suitable. The surrounding area is always kept tidy, although it would be appreciated if it remained that way.
You can have a wonderful and tranquil day trip at this beach.
