The beach around the pier isn't very pleasant and tends to get crowded. However, if you head east of the pier, you'll find a truly picturesque area, especially the section on the cliffs with the forest behind it. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful part of the entire beach area. It seems that there's a tourist tax required for entry (there are machines at the entrances), but no one actually checked it.
The beach would be quite lovely if it were kept tidy and clean, even during the off-peak season. Unfortunately, the pier remains closed. The most important thing to note is that there is a tourist tax of €2.50 that must be paid when visiting the beach, and high parking fees of €16 for a day ticket are also required.
Today was our first visit to Rerik beach, and we were pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was. We definitely plan on returning in the future. The parking fee for beach access was a bit steep, costing €1 for every 30 minutes. However, the convenience of being right on the beach made it worth it. Additionally, there were free public toilets available at the parking lot. The beach offered ample opportunities for long walks, which was perfect for us as we had our dog with us. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
This beach along the Baltic Sea is absolutely stunning, making it a perfect spot to relax for hours on end. While it doesn't extend all the way to Wustrow, you can still enjoy long walks in the opposite direction. The only downside is that the pier is still inaccessible, hence the deduction of one star.
The beach is well-maintained and provides convenient access for wheelchairs and strollers. There are numerous retail stores for a small town, and there are no concerns regarding the variety of dining options available.
