It's a decent spot to spend a couple of days, but beyond that, there isn't much to comment on.
I gave this beach a five-star rating because it is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Despite the cold and fast wind that day, it was still refreshing. The view was stunning with the light shining and highlighting everything. The waves crashing on the shore were perfect for those who enjoy sliding sports. The weather was crazy, but it made for a fun time. We took a nice, contemplative walk and I highly recommend it. Just be sure to protect yourself if you visit in March because it can be quite chilly.
During our Road Trip through France, Ouistreham proved to be a delightful surprise. We were enamored with the location, our holiday home, and the discovery of an incredible restaurant (Le Phare) and a fantastic bakery. The town also boasts a charming walking street that leads to a magnificent beach. At the busiest point (where the walking street terminates), there are market and food stalls, games and rides, and a large ferris wheel. Additionally, beach and watersport gear can be rented. The beach itself is expansive and immaculately maintained. With plenty of lifeguards on duty, it's a safe spot for swimming and sunbathing. What sets this beach apart is the wonderful boardwalk that extends westward. It's a long, flat walk that's perfect for strollers, wheelchairs, and even dogs (although not on the beach during high season). Along the way, you'll encounter charming beach huts and several fascinating war memorials. Take your time reading the informational plaques - there's much to be learned. Overall, Ouistreham's beach has something for everyone - from beach bums to sporty types, walkers to history buffs. It's a fantastic place to spend time and we found ourselves returning every day before dinner.
This beach is perfect for wind sports and activities. I plan on returning with a better itinerary. Additionally, the beach has a rich history and a large tide. However, the lack of sun in August was a bit disappointing.
The beach is absolutely stunning, and I appreciate the historical significance of the area. Walking along the beach for miles is a real treat. Plus, the proximity to town means you can easily take a relaxing stroll and then grab a delicious meal at one of the local restaurants.
