I would advise avoiding this destination! I visited in November and unfortunately, there were no diving opportunities available. The food was extremely disappointing and I encountered some questionable practices. It's worth mentioning that everything was priced in Peso, however, the only accepted payment methods were Euros or dollars, with an unfair exchange rate of 24, whereas the usual rate is 120.
I visited the beach in 2005 and stayed there for a week, anchoring my boat while waiting for calm weather to travel 217 miles to Grand Cayman. The chefs, hotel staff, and scuba crew were incredibly friendly. The reefs in the bay reminded me of what the Florida Keys looked like forty years ago, with plenty of sea turtles. I'm already looking forward to returning on my next trip with my Irish passport. This place is like paradise for divers. Long live the revolution!
The beach at Paradise is absolutely stunning, with its crystal clear water and breathtaking sunsets. There's also a charming little bar where you can enjoy yourself, and they even have a pool table.
The beach is absolutely stunning, offering crystal-clear waters and a vibrant shoreline. The hotel is decent, although the rooms could be better. As for the food, it's alright in terms of both variety and quality.
The beach is stunning, but the service does not justify the cost. While we were there, 70% of the items on the menu were unavailable and the ones that were available were not flavorful (such as pasta with tomato sauce, a tiny portion of fish, and a pizza with only cheese and nothing else). However, I still highly recommend Maria La Gorda for divers looking for a unique experience away from the typical tourist spots in Cuba.
