Uvala Zavratnica is located on the Adriatic Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 14th place out of 70 beaches in the Lika-Senj region 41 km away from its center, the city of Gospic. It is one of the beaches of Panos settlement, just 1.4 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and concrete cover, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is quite sharp. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Uvala Zavratnica coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities, snorkeling.

To get to the beach, you need to walk along a mountain trail more than 1km long.

Swimming above a shipwreck in a gorgeous bay is a delightful experience, and the water isn't too deep. Additionally, it's worth noting that the beach has a concrete covering.

The beach is situated at a short distance from the park and boasts of a beautiful bay. However, the entry fee of 30 HRK per person seems to be a bit steep according to my opinion. The walking path leading to the bay is well-maintained and stony, with a width of around 1 meter. It is possible to walk with beach slippers without any difficulty. The journey to the bay takes approximately 20-30 minutes, but along the way, one can explore a WW2 shipwreck submerged just a few meters below the surface. Snorkeling gear, face masks, or swimming goggles are highly recommended to make the most of this experience. The beach tends to be a bit crowded, but there are some pine trees along the walking path that provide ample shade. However, the only available amenity is a toilet that unfortunately emits a terrible stench.

This stunning beach is a must-visit destination. To fully enjoy its beauty, it's best to arrive early in the day to avoid the crowds of commercial establishments and their patrons that flood the area later on. Be sure to make your way up to the viewpoint for an incredible aerial perspective of the beach. Keep in mind that as part of a National Park, there are certain regulations in place, though it seems that many visitors choose to disregard them.
