Bijeca beach is located on the Adriatic Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 72th place out of 215 beaches in the Istria region 47.2 km away from its center, the city of Pazin. It is one of the beaches of Medulin settlement, just 0.9 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a spacious bay with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is very crowded place during the season. There is a campsite located nearby.

Despite the fact that a significant part of the beach is occupied by resorts, there is still a fairly large area with free access. The beach facilities are only available to visitors of resort area. Their list includes, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, changing rooms, showers, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. This area has also a water park in the sea with various inflatable toys which constitute excellent activities for parents and children. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities. This beach is popular for windsurfing or kiteboarding.

This beach is easily accessible, it is located very close to road. Parking is located directly on the beach.

The beach was littered with garbage, with cigarette filters and shards of glass scattered everywhere except for a one-meter radius from the water's edge. I strongly advise against visiting this beach, as it is undoubtedly the worst in Croatia. While it is possible to pay for better amenities like umbrellas and sunbeds, the beach itself is simply dreadful. There are no toilets available, and the water is murky and unclean. Additionally, the beach is quite rocky, making it difficult to navigate. I suggest finding an alternative location to take yourself and your children for a more enjoyable beach experience.

During peak season, the beach tends to be very crowded, making it difficult to move around freely. It is unfortunate that this was not the case about a decade ago. Nonetheless, the beach is still kept clean and well-maintained. It is probable that the sand is not natural, as one can see and feel the presence of rocks during low tide.

Medulin's most renowned beach, Bijeca, situated in the village itself, is truly a sight to behold. With a lengthy stretch of sandy shores, gentle sea waters, and a plethora of accompanying amenities, it's the perfect location for a day-long respite and amusement for the entire clan. It's especially recommended for families with young children and inexperienced swimmers, as the rescue service and enclosed swimming space provide additional security. As for refreshments, two beach bars, Beach bar Baraccuda and Beach bar Havana, are conveniently located right on the beach, exuding a lively and jovial atmosphere. While I can't speak for other dining establishments, the ambiance here is always top-notch.

This seemingly beautiful beach turned out to be a total disappointment. It appeared that everything had already shut down, leaving us with nothing but regret. Whether it was due to the pandemic or the end of the season, we'll never know. If we ever find ourselves in the vicinity again, we'll be sure to come back during peak season. Otherwise, what's the point?

In July 2020, I had the pleasure of exploring the sandy shores of Medulin. While the beach is predominantly sandy, there are a few rocks scattered in the water at the beginning. The water is relatively shallow, making it unsuitable for those looking to take a long dip. However, this feature makes it a popular choice among families with young children. As the beach is quite popular, it's advisable to arrive early to secure a prime spot.
