Matai Beach is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 10th place out of 17 beaches in the Cook Islands region 217.6 km away from its center, the city of Avarua. It is one of the beaches of Areoa settlement, just 2.5 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, surrounded by the cliffs. This beach is not a well-known place, so it is well suited for a relaxing leisure.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal.
