Unakuruwa Beach is located on the Indian ocean and it is in the 102th place out of 235 beaches in the Sri Lanka region 144.4 km away from its center, the city of Colombo. It is one of the beaches of Unakuruwa settlement, just 0.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Unakuruwa Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, beach restaurant. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities, sup-surfing. There are also some surf spots.

The beach is absolutely amazing, surpassing both Gayamboki and Silent Beach. The only drawback is that it tends to be a bit dirty. However, the water is incredibly clear and the sand even has patches of purple.
