Lamma Island's only must-visit spot is this beach - other locations aren't worth your time, especially if you're with family. For those who love hiking and adventure, there are plenty of great options. Keep in mind that this beach doesn't have any food or drink stalls, so bring your own snacks. While there is one vending machine, it's unfortunately broken and out of order.
Lo So Shing Beach, hidden away on the west coast of Lamma Island, is a true gem. With its long stretch of sand and tree-fringed stairs, this beach is far enough from civilization to avoid the crowds, yet still offers basic services like lifeguards and bathrooms. Accessible by foot, it takes a 15-minute detour from the Family Trail to reach this relatively empty beach. As you make your way down to the beach, you'll pass by a few vendors selling essentials like water, beer, and sunscreen. Once you arrive, you'll find a clean and well-maintained beach, regularly achieving the highest rating from the city's Environmental Protection Department. The water is confined by a shark net, making it safe for swimming, and there are even lifeguards on duty during set hours. While there aren't many restaurants or bars on this isolated strip, you'll find barbecue pits, showers, and a few vendors renting out paddle boards and rafts.
This beach is peaceful and just a short stroll from the So Kwu Wan Ferry Pier. It has all the necessary amenities of a public beach managed by LCSD, including well-maintained changing rooms, showers, and a staffed First Aid station. Although there may not always be lifeguards on duty, you can still enjoy a swim in the calm waters at your own discretion. It's important to note that there are no supplies available for purchase on the beach, so be sure to bring everything you need with you.
Lo So Shing Strand er en fredelig og afsides destination værd at udforske på Lamma Island. Stranden praler af sin gyldne sand, hvilket tilføjer til dens charme og skønhed.
