It is a long lasting coastline with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season. There is a campsite located nearby.

Silverknowes Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature, changing rooms, showers, toilets. .

Although it was an extremely hot September day, the stroll from Silverknowes beach to the River Almond estuary in Cramond was delightful. Families, walkers, and cyclists were all taking advantage of the beautiful day. Unexpectedly, we decided to take a late afternoon walk across the causeway to Cramond Island, which turned out to be a unique and enjoyable experience. Some individuals appeared a bit anxious, but as long as the tide is low, the path is perfectly safe.

The beach and its surroundings are stunning. There is ample room for walking and cycling, as well as various seating areas to relax and enjoy the view. It's also a lovely spot for a picnic. Parking along the road is plentiful, and the beach is conveniently accessible via Lothian bus number 29. It's a great place to visit in the evening, although do note that the nearby airport means you may occasionally see airplanes flying overhead.

It's a beautiful spot. Make sure to check the website for the optimal low tide time before you go. It's quite an adventure to stroll through the sea when it's at its lowest point, heading towards cramond beach. The only drawback is that the closest public restroom is a 15-minute walk from Silverknowes Beach and it closes at 6pm.

The beach is absolutely lovely when the tide is low, and it's quite peaceful, making it a perfect spot for walking dogs. Although there is a fair amount of litter, it still looks beautiful on a sunny day. My dog had a blast running around and playing!

This beach is a stunning spot for leisurely strolls. I highly recommend visiting on weekends to unwind. It tends to be quite breezy, so don't forget to bring a jacket. The ocean boasts a beautiful blue hue, and you can freely walk or jog along the shoreline. Additionally, there's a charming beach cafe where you can grab a coffee to take with you. This location offers a pure, natural setting, and I absolutely adore the peaceful walks here. You'll always encounter fellow individuals seeking some fresh air. I would definitely suggest this place, as it's not a tourist hotspot but rather a hidden gem for locals. Come and relish a Sunday afternoon stroll.
