A beautiful, wide and long sandy beach located between Burnham-on-Sea and Brean Down. It can be very windy here. Watch out for the tides. On this beach, at low tide you can walk very far into the Bristol Channel. There have already been numerous RNLI interventions here. The ground, which is sometimes muddy, sucks in your legs and you are left trapped. Very dangerous, it even threatens to sink when the water returns. And of course the wreck of MV Nornen, a Norwegian Barque which ran near here in 1897 is visible. You will see it in all its glory at low tide.
The walk from car park is disappointing, people allowed there dogs to do their business and left it across path, path needs cleaning up. Beach wise was lovely, peaceful, kids loved having open space to play, obviously not like a swimming beach, perfect for dogs. Just be careful when tide is out leave little bits water but it's got sinking mud, go careful when bring dogs and even children.
Really good beach for Dog walking and great dunes for kids to play on, just be careful when going closer to the sea because it can become quite muddy and you can sink in the sand nearer the sea. I’d advise not to go in sea at most times cuz you can drown and sink more easily since it’s quite a muddy beach when you go out towards the sea.
Beach was great and very clean. Good sandy beach and good views of the ocean.
There is a car park with toilets but it’s £6 per day, there is one just down the road (drive through a wooden gate) which is free, and has a nice walk to the beach across the dunes. The sand is easy to walk on. Great for dogs.
