I was really impressed with Fraisthorpe Beach. Firstly, the parking situation was great with plenty of spaces available near the beach, and the rates were very reasonable. It was also nice to see that dogs are allowed on the beach. The beach itself is quite spacious and level. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any sea glass or many shells, but it's still a long, sandy beach. There's a cafe called the Cow Shed not too far from the parking area where you can grab a hot drink and use the facilities. I have a feeling that my family and I will definitely come back to this beach someday, especially with our dog.
The beach is absolutely lovely for walking dogs, and I think it welcomes dogs all year round. When I arrive at the beach, I usually head to the right, and the beach is incredibly long, making it a great place for the dogs to run. As for parking, there is a pay and display machine that accepts both cards and cash. It costs £3 for up to 3 hours or £5 for the entire day. Unfortunately, the cafe is currently closed, but they have a takeaway kiosk where they sell coffee, sandwiches, paninis, and a small variety of cakes. It's perfect for grabbing a quick snack after a long walk! The cafe also offers doggy ice-cream, which is dairy-free and comes in a peanut butter flavor. It's a bit pricey at £3.50 for a small tub, but it's a lovely treat for them every now and then.
I used to visit this beach when I was a young boy, and now I bring my son here. It's a serene and unspoiled beach, with beautiful sand dunes and Sand Martins in the background. It's the perfect spot to witness the sunrise during early spring, as the sun emerges directly from the North Sea in perfect alignment with the beach. This is truly the finest representation of the East Yorkshire coastline.
This beach is absolutely stunning and peaceful, although it can get crowded on Saturdays and Sundays during the day. However, the rest of the time, you can often enjoy the beach all to yourself, except for a few dog walkers. Personally, I love coming here for wild swimming. Don't forget to visit the calf shed uphill for some delicious snacks and hot beverages.
I had a delightful afternoon stroll under the sun with my dogs. The parking fee was quite reasonable, costing £3 for a duration of 3 hours, and payment could be made with either card or cash. Upon reaching the beach, I turned right and walked for a solid hour without encountering many other individuals. The beach was adorned with beautiful sandy shores, along with some intriguing rock pools where I spotted a shrimp and a few fish. On my way back, a seal pup unexpectedly appeared on the beach. It was truly a fantastic beach experience, and I definitely plan on returning here in the future.
