Freshwater West beach (Fresh Water West beach or Pembrokeshire Freshwater west beach) is in the 13th place out of 24 beaches in the Pembrokeshire region

The beach is located in an urban area in Wales. It looks like the most ordinary and unremarkable beach, of which there are hundreds on the coast. But it was Harry Potter films that made him famous. On the beach there is an improvised grave of Dobby, and for this reason the beach began to be popularly called Dobby's beach. There is an inscription on the stone - "Dobby is a free elf in Pembrokeshire".

Hundreds of fans of the Harry saga come here to touch the famous movie character, bringing flowers and other accessories and leaving inscriptions. Because of this, the government is considering moving the monument off the beach. But one thing is clear - even if the memorial in honor of Dobby is moved, the beach will be called "Dobby Beach" forever!

The second thing to know about the Freshwater West beach is its popularity with surfers! Freshwater West is one of the top surfing locations in Wales and regularly hosts tournaments that attracts competitors from all over the world.

The beach is surrounded by a network of natural dunes - Burrows Broomhill. which separate it from the road. The sand dunes are protected by the state, so no camping or barbecues are allowed in the area.

It is a with crystal blue water and golden sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers , pet owners etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

This is a lovely beach with a unique feature - a free elf who calls it home. Despite the windy weather on the day I visited, I still found it to be a worthwhile trip. The beach has ample parking and free restroom facilities, which is a nice touch. If you have limited mobility, I recommend parking in the restroom car park as it is closest to the area where the elf resides. The elf's mound is constantly changing and visitors can always expect to see something new. The beach itself is peaceful and quiet, with sand dunes and rocks adding to its charm. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a few hours of reflection.

This beach in Wales is absolutely stunning and has everything you need for a perfect day out. It boasts long, wide expanses of sand that stretch for at least a mile, making it perfect for both tiring out the kids and taking a romantic sunset stroll. The rock pools here are fantastic and surfing is a must-do activity. In fact, this beach has been the location for many famous films, including Harry Potter, where Shell Cottage was located and where Dobby the house elf tragically died. There is even a large memorial to Dobby here, with stones and socks placed in tribute. Some of the stones are painted beautifully. The mobile cafe on the beach, run by a charity, is excellent, and parking is both plentiful and free. However, if you want the best spots, it's best to arrive early or late. The restrooms are clean and there is an RNLI guard on duty during the summer months. Don't hesitate to visit this beach and take in the fresh air, wind, sea, and sand - you're sure to love it.

Dobbies Beach is a must-visit spot for both Harry Potter fans and non-fans alike. The beach is absolutely stunning and we had the added bonus of witnessing a breathtaking sunset and moonrise during our visit. Although our original intention was to visit Dobbies grave, we found ourselves thoroughly enjoying the beautiful beach instead.
