This beach is absolutely amazing, with a sandy shore that leads into the ocean. An added bonus is that it's open to the public for free.
The beach is easily accessible from the Start Point car park, although the path leading to it is quite steep. It's worth the effort though, as the beach offers free public entry.
Another day spent at Mattiscombe Sands was nothing short of breathtaking. The journey to the beach was just as enjoyable as the destination itself, as we parked at the exceptional Start Point carpark and embarked on a scenic walk. The final descent was a bit challenging, but it was well worth it. Carrying a backpack was helpful to keep our hands free. Upon arriving at the beach, we were greeted by a picturesque oasis that felt like a slice of heaven. Despite it being a popular destination during half term, the beach still maintained its natural beauty. We were thrilled to discover that the waves were perfect for body boarding, but we had to navigate through some rocks to get there. The beach offered a delightful mix of soft sand and rocky terrain, with plenty of hidden alcoves for privacy. Mattiscombe Sands is truly a hidden gem that is worth exploring. 🏖
During my first stroll along the coastal path, I stumbled upon this delightful beach. The journey from the car park to the shore was a breeze. This particular beach has quickly become a top contender for my favourite spot on the south Devon coast. The sand is plentiful and the water is crystal clear. As I explored the area, I was thrilled to come across a thriving marine life, including a sizable group of seals lounging on the rocks just around the bend.
This beach is a hidden gem, boasting crystal clear turquoise waters and soft yellow sand that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. The friendly seals that inhabit the area add to the charm of this paradise, and the gorgeous rocks that surround the beach make for a picturesque backdrop. The path leading to the beach may be a bit steep and narrow, but it's well worth the effort. Taking breaks to catch your breath will give you the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful flowers that adorn the grassy banks and the glistening water that gradually disappears between the two hills. I highly recommend this beach to anyone seeking a slice of heaven on earth.
