Tekke public beach is extremely filthy. The entire beach is littered with cigarette butts, broken glass, and various other types of trash. Stray dogs seek shelter from the scorching summer heat and often lay down next to people, to the extent that one even laid down on the towel we had spread out while we were swimming in the sea. Speaking of the sea, it is far from clean and contains fragments of glass. There are definitely better and cleaner beaches in the vicinity of Çeşme. Our visit took place on July 24, 2023 (Monday), and it was not overly crowded. We were able to rent a sun umbrella from a lifeguard wearing a yellow T-shirt for 100 TL. Overall, this beach does not live up to the natural beauty of Çeşme and should be much cleaner and better maintained. I am taking this opportunity to address the mayor and urge them to pay attention to this issue, as it goes beyond simply having their name written everywhere. Adjacent to the beach, there is a café restaurant operated by Çestur. Although the service there is incredibly slow, it is still a viable option for visitors.
There is a small beach located just a short walk away from Çeşme center. Although the stones on the beach have been cleared, the sea bottom is entirely rocky. The water is not very deep and has a gentle wave. Thankfully, there are no large crowds or bothersome individuals present. However, it is unfortunate that some people leave their garbage behind, making it challenging to find a clean spot to place our belongings. Additionally, there are numerous stray dogs in the area. These dogs are friendly and pose no threat to people, but it is important to be aware of this if it makes you uncomfortable.
There's a lovely small beach near the restaurants where you can easily rent umbrellas and loungers. Unfortunately, the general public doesn't take good care of it and leaves a lot of trash, including cigarette butts. I witnessed two women come, swim, and then leave their plastic water bottles on the beach, despite the presence of bins. It's clear that more education is needed in this regard.
This yellow t-shirt is a crucial safety measure; it is offered to all beachgoers in order to discourage them from swimming.
This beach is the only one in Cesme where you can swim. It's quite small, which is why it tends to get very crowded. It's a good option if you want to quickly cool off in the sea. However, if you're looking to truly enjoy the beach, it's better to choose the larger ones nearby. Especially during the summer months, it's highly likely that you won't find any available space to even take a step.
