What a gem of a secluded seaside town! We ventured from Demircili Beach on a leisurely stroll, taking in the breathtaking scenery along the 4-5 km trail. Be sure to pack plenty of sustenance for the journey, as you won't find any convenience stores or restaurants along the way.
I ventured to this bay on a whim. I parked my car 5 km away from Yağcılar village and had to walk downhill for an hour to reach the bay as only 4*4 vehicles can access the rest of the way. Although the sea was stunning, I wouldn't necessarily say it's a must-see cove. As we made our descent, we hoped to find someone who could give us a lift back up. Luckily, a family who had set up camp kindly offered to help us out. Without their assistance, I'm not sure how long it would have taken us to climb back up the slope. For those who are particularly curious, there are small boats available for private hire to explore the Demircili coast. The bay provides ample space for camping, but there are no facilities to cater to your needs. The beach may be petite, but it boasts an exquisite beauty that is hard to miss. However, the bay is not ideal for snorkeling due to its unfavorable conditions. The frequent boat traffic poses a disturbance as the sound of boat engines can be heard every now and then, which can be quite risky. Moreover, exploring the underwater world can be challenging as the depth barely exceeds 6 meters. Even though there are sea meadows scattered in some areas, the marine life is not as abundant. Nevertheless, the view is still remarkable. If you plan to visit in August, expect a water temperature of around 25°.
The beach is a fantastic destination for those who love the sea and the natural environment. However, it's not the best spot for fishing enthusiasts as the luck seems to be elusive. If you plan on visiting this beach, make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle that can handle offroading. The road leading to the beach is in terrible condition, and the final stretch is particularly challenging as it passes through a rocky and uneven stream bed. Your vehicle must have sturdy off-road tires to make it through. The 8 km journey takes around 40 minutes, so be prepared for a challenging ride.
This bay is truly a sight to behold, boasting unparalleled beauty that will leave you breathless. However, it is worth noting that the road leading to the bay has been closed off to vehicle transportation by its owners. While the Gendarmerie is aware of the situation, visitors should be aware that the road may be open at times, but it is important to exercise caution. Those who do make the journey by car should be prepared to leave quickly if the owners arrive, as they have been known to cut down trees for wood. It is recommended that only SUV or 4x4 vehicles attempt the journey, as the road can be treacherous for passenger vehicles. Alternatively, visitors can arrive by boat to avoid any potential issues. As always, please remember to take your trash with you when you leave.
