Praia Preta is located on the Atlantic ocean and it is in the 108th place out of 375 beaches in the Rio de Janeiro region 101.4 km away from its center, the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the beaches of Abraao settlement, just 0.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

The beach near Abraao is fantastic and well-maintained. Make sure to bring some cash (in Brazilian Real) so you can enjoy a caipirinha from Norma, who can be found halfway down the beach near the freshwater pond. Her caipirinhas are delicious and pack a punch!
