This beach is an ideal spot for taking a dip in the water, as it is peaceful and serene. The scenery is truly stunning, and it is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque beaches on the island.
This beach is an ideal spot to relax and have a great time. It has all the necessary amenities to make your day at the beach complete, including a fresh water shower.
I found Dog Beach to be quite pleasant.
Getting to the beach is easy, just a ladder. You can rent tents with tables and chairs for BRL 50.00 (July 2022). The waters are calm and great for swimming and diving. At low tide, you can walk to Praia do Meio. If the tide is high, you can take a 5-minute trail back up the stairs. Before leaving, check out the rocks on the right side of the beach (at low tide). There you can find the Hole of Galego and the Lasca da Velha, although accessing the latter is more difficult as you have to walk on sharp stones and a very steep slope.
This beach is stunning, but be wary of the huge waves and strong currents, especially if you have kids with you. There are no lifeguards present and there are plenty of rocks on either side of the beach, so it's best to stay in the middle when swimming.
