Catatiua Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 24th place out of 30 beaches in the Maranhão region 23.4 km away from its center, the city of Sao Luis. It is one of the beaches of Sao Miguel settlement, just 11.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a straight coastline with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season. Please note that the area nearby is possible for wild camping.
