Apara Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 132th place out of 375 beaches in the Rio de Janeiro region 83.7 km away from its center, the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the beaches of Mangaratiba settlement, just 1.9 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

It's a peaceful spot that's perfect for spending time with loved ones, but there aren't any vendors or stores located directly on the beach.

Once I stumbled upon this beach, I never felt the need to explore any others. It's located before Ibicuí for those coming from RJ, and is somewhat tucked away. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as there are limited spots on a steep slope. However, the beach itself is absolutely delightful. During the off-season, it's very peaceful with only a handful of visitors. There are no pesky street vendors and only a few shops can be found along the edge.

This beach is a wonderful and serene spot to spend a weekend. There are several rental houses available, but be sure to bring insect repellent as the area is close to a forest. If you're planning a day trip, be sure to arrive early as parking is limited. The beach is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, and there is a source of drinking water (at least it was when I visited) located next to the train tracks.
