Grande Cajaíba Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 203th place out of 375 beaches in the Rio de Janeiro region 146.2 km away from its center, the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the beaches of Itaoca settlement, just 1.3 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

The stunning Praia Grande da Caraíba, along with its neighboring beaches, may be considered a bit of a trek from Paraty, deterring some boatmen from making the journey due to the open sea stretch. However, it is definitely worth the visit as the beach is sparsely populated and stretches of it are nearly deserted. A mere 10-minute trail from Praia da Cajaiba leads to a breathtaking and uninhabited waterfall. The beach also boasts a river that flows into the sea. While the beach offers a small structure with a restaurant run by locals, serving simple yet delicious homemade food, it is primarily a destination for those seeking a more rustic and tranquil experience.

During our stay at Pouso da Cajaíba, we embarked on some exciting tours. On our third day, we ventured to Praia Grande da Cajaíba, and let me tell you, it was an absolute paradise! Though the beach can be accessed by a trail that takes approximately 2 hours of walking in the hot sun with many ups and downs, we opted to take a boat from Praia Pouso da Cajaíba, which took only 15 minutes. The beach was breathtakingly beautiful with calm waters and several stalls offering delicious meals. From the left corner of the beach, we accessed the trail that led to the campsites and the stunning Praia Grande waterfall, which was only a 15-minute walk away. The well with a gorgeous waterfall was a sight to behold and was worth the trek. Overall, our experience at Praia Grande da Cajaíba was nothing short of spectacular, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and

As you make your way down the winding trail from Cajaiba landing, you'll soon realize that this isn't your average beach. Oh no, it's much more than that. With the option to arrive by boat or by foot, you'll feel like a true explorer as you venture towards this hidden gem. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by not one, but two caiçara restaurants that offer up some seriously tasty fish PF. At 40 reais a pop, it's a steal for the fresh catch of the day. And if that wasn't enough to entice you, there's also a stunning waterfall nearby that adds to the natural beauty of this beach.
