Mar Grosso Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 84th place out of 238 beaches in the Santa Catarina region 100.4 km away from its center, the city of Florianopolis. It is one of the beaches of Laguna settlement, just 1.6 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

This beach experience is beyond words. I am in awe of the fishermen's patience as they stand in chest-deep water, waiting for the dolphins to herd fish their way. The precision of their net throws, ensuring the safety of the bottlenose dolphins, is a testament to their skill and respect for these majestic creatures. The resulting catch is filled with rich flavors and is a true delight for the senses. The dolphins' playful and kind nature is on full display as they assist the fishermen. It's heartwarming to witness these intelligent animals helping humans who lack their natural fishing abilities. Together, they work in harmony to drive the fish towards the waiting fishermen. This is a remarkable experience that I will never forget.
