This beach is one of many wonderful beaches on the island.
This beach is one of the most secluded on the island, so a 4WD is highly recommended for access. There is plenty of parking at the entrance, but as you go further in, it becomes more and more remote with fewer parking spots. The waves here are usually quite strong.
If you're in Esperanaza or visiting the nearby black sand beach, it's worth taking a stroll or a short drive to this gorgeous beach. You may even come across local fishermen and their kids fishing with nets in the waves.
The scenery was stunning, but swimming was difficult. I had brought a bodyboard, but I couldn't even get out of the shallow area. There were too many rocks and the waves and current were too strong. I stepped into a rocky hole that snagged my foot while the wave and current pulled me in all directions. I grabbed my wife and we left. We did take some pictures though. For swimming, I'd give it a low rating. For sunbathers, I'd give it a high rating. It was also secluded and there was hardly anyone there. I didn't notice any unpleasant odors either.
This beach is stunning, but not ideal for swimming. It's perfect for sunbathing and strolling, however the entrance is rocky and we ended up getting pricked by sea urchins as we tried to leave the water. We should have brought our snorkeling gear to explore the marine life and a better way to get out of the ocean.
