Praia do Tonel is located on the North Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 95th place out of 152 beaches in the Algarve region 90.1 km away from its center, the city of Faro. It is one of the beaches of Sagres settlement, just 1.2 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and brown sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Praia do Tonel coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, beach restaurant, toilets. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

Gazing down at the beach from the Sagres fortress was a breathtaking experience. The waves were colossal, making it a haven for surfers. The mesmerizing sight of the waves colliding with the rocks and the shore was so captivating that I could have stood there for hours, lost in the moment.

The beach is stunning and definitely worth a visit. We went in October and it was practically empty, which was nice. It's a great spot to go for a swim, especially if you have kids with you. Additionally, there's a large parking lot located between the beach and the fortress that's free of charge, and it's only a 5-minute walk away. It's worth mentioning that the sand on this beach is brown.
