San Juan del Sur Beach is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 18th place out of 29 beaches in the Rivas region 20.6 km away from its center, the city of Rivas. It is one of the beaches of San Juan del Sur settlement, just 0.7 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a long bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

San Juan del Sur Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, changing rooms, showers, toilets, sea pool. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. Daily boat rental service is located nearby.

Beware of relying solely on the pictures you see, as they may not accurately represent the beach's true condition. The beach was not well-maintained, and the water was uninviting. If you are seeking a relaxing beach and sea experience, this may not be the ideal destination for you. It was a letdown overall. However, if you venture to higher elevations, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the beach. The town itself is reminiscent of a classic beach town, which appealed to me personally.

The scenery is indeed picturesque, and the water seems to be of remarkable quality. However, the rest of the experience is rather lacking. The climate is unpredictable and often unpleasant, and the local businesses are subpar, with vendors and shops peddling mediocre wares. Overall, the beach is not worth the hype and is better off avoided.
