The hotel is fantastic with a stunning location. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Margarito, who works at the front valet/taxi stand, was extremely kind and helpful. He spoke excellent English and went above and beyond to assist me. He definitely deserves a raise!
To be honest, I visited this place about 12 years ago and I still have the desire to return. I was around 12 years old at the time, and the reviews pretty much accurately describe the place. If you're looking for fancy rooms, don't book this hotel because they are just meant for sleeping. However, I do remember that the food and drinks were unlimited. I spent the entire day in the pool, constantly ordering pina coladas (which were non-alcoholic, of course). I watched as bees swarmed around my empty drinks that were lined up by the pool, since the drinks were unlimited. I'm not sure if they still have the nightclub for older people, and the boat ride was quite relaxing with beautiful scenery of jungle trees and butterflies. Overall, you could manage with some basic Spanish and the staff didn't bother you. But again, if you're expecting luxury, this place is not for you. It's simply a spot to unwind and escape. And the private beach was great, especially if you have concerns about organ harvesting.
I absolutely adored this beach! It's truly incredible. However, the rooms are in dire need of maintenance. One great thing about this place is that there are no sellers on the beach. Additionally, the hotel has its own bay and discotheque. They even offer a steam bath and free horse riding entertainment.
The rooms were decent, although the bathroom was small and the door was falling apart. Whenever someone opened it, the door would touch the floor and make a loud noise. However, the beach was lovely, although we couldn't go in the water due to a red flag during our three-day stay. It was still nice for morning walks though. If you're staying here, it's worth knowing that you can ride horses and go on a crocodile boat ride at the activity center. We only saw two baby crocodiles during the hour-long boat ride, which included a 30-minute stop at a public beach before returning to the hotel. It's a bit frustrating that you have to pay for the boat ride, considering it's an all-inclusive resort. On the bright side, the shows were fantastic! I particularly enjoyed the interactive ones where audience members could go on stage and participate in challenges. After the show, you can head to the lobby for a game like musical chairs, where failing means taking a shot for 10 seconds. At 11:30, they even serve hot dogs or hamburgers. However, the food here was disappointing. Breakfast was good, but dinner was quite unpleasant, with options like Italian or Chinese cuisine, and possibly more. Additionally, there is no signal here, but you can get WiFi in the lobby by asking for the password.
The hotel offers a wide range of amenities within close proximity, eliminating the need for extensive walking. However, it does not provide 24-hour bar service, and the multiple bars available often have long queues due to understaffing. The restaurants tend to get quite crowded during peak hours, resulting in wait times for a table. Additionally, guests are only allowed to make dinner reservations once during their stay. On a positive note, the pool is enjoyable, and the beach is pleasant, free from souvenir vendors. Furthermore, there is a designated area on the beach for the protection of sea turtle nests.
