The beaches are simply stunning in Lo de Marcos, and the town itself has a laid-back and relaxed vibe. The locals are welcoming, the town square is picturesque, and the streets are well-maintained.
I really enjoyed this beach - it was very clean and peaceful.
This quiet little beach town is truly incredible and highly recommended for those seeking a more peaceful, non-touristy destination. It's situated 25 minutes north of Sayulita, making it a great alternative to the crowded scene there. Although the surf may not be top-notch, the overall beauty of the place, from the friendly locals to the pristine beach, is simply awesome. I am definitely planning on returning. P.S. I urge visitors to be mindful of their trash and pack out whatever they bring in. The locals take great care to keep this place immaculate, and it shows - there is very little to no litter at all. I even saw some locals picking up trash in the morning and decided to join in. Let's all do our part to help keep this place clean.
We really enjoy this beach, but we do have a suggestion to be more conscious of our use of single-use plastics. We recommend bringing your own bamboo silverware and water bottle to refill instead of contributing to the global plastic problem. We also bring a stainless steel straw to avoid using plastic ones. It's important to remember that plastic waste, such as six-pack rings and straws, can harm sea life. Additionally, we should be mindful of cigarette use on the beach and around others. It's best to dispose of cigarette butts in a garbage can rather than burying them in the sand, as they are also made of non-biodegradable plastic particles. This beach does not allow powered vehicles, only small fishing boats, paddle boards, and surfboards. We recommend these practices for all beaches.
This gorgeous sandy beach is situated in a tranquil small bay that's just an hour's drive north of Puerto Vallarta. It's perfect for relaxing, swimming, and even fishing. Although it doesn't often have big waves for surfing, it's still a great spot for those looking for a calm beach day. For more consistent waves, surf enthusiasts tend to head to Sayulita.
