Playa Santa Maria is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 15th place out of 133 beaches in the Baja California Sur region 143.5 km away from its center, the city of La Paz. It is one of the beaches of El Tezal settlement, just 7.7 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area with very picturesque views.

It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. The sand at this beach is made of pebbles, which can get quite hot. It's advisable to wear water shoes or sandals to protect your feet. The beach itself is small but lovely, with the added bonus of being able to go snorkeling right from the shore. There are also convenient amenities such as showers and a bathroom. Ample free parking is available, and there is a shaded walkway for those seeking relief from the sun. If you're interested, there is a guy who rents out umbrellas and chairs for 350 pesos. Keep in mind that there are no food or drinks available, so it's recommended to bring your own. One interesting feature is that you can spot fish simply by standing in the water on the right side near the rocks, no need to swim into the ocean!

It felt more secluded as there were fewer vendors attempting to sell. Although the sand isn't particularly soft, it's still a fantastic beach for unwinding.

This beach is absolutely incredible. It's truly top-notch for a public access beach. The parking lot is roomy and the restrooms are clean, plus the showers have fantastic water pressure! The covered walkway to the beach provides excellent protection from the sun for the 400 yards you have to walk. And let me tell you, the beach itself is stunning. It's teeming with marine life and the contrasting shades of blue are simply breathtaking.

The beach is absolutely incredible, and I highly suggest visiting it when you find yourself in Los Cabos. The scenery is breathtaking, and the snorkeling experience is top-notch. It's advisable to bring your own food, drinks, and snorkeling equipment since there are no facilities nearby. We spent a significant portion of our day here, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
