The vast expanse of the ocean stretches out before you, beckoning you to come and explore its depths. Nestled amidst this natural beauty are a plethora of cafes, as well as convenient 7 Eleven and Oxxo shops. This beach truly offers the best of both worlds - the tranquility of the sea and the convenience of modern amenities.
Avoid visiting this beach in the morning as it's quite dull. However, after noon, it transforms into a bustling hub of food stalls serving everything from seafood to tacos, brunch spots, candy stands, and coconut vendors, among other things. The lively atmosphere of the town, coupled with music, adds to the fun. Although the water may be frigid, it can be a refreshing escape on a scorching day.
As someone with Mexican roots, I hold a deep affection for the people of this country. The beach, in particular, is a sight to behold with its stunning vistas and serene atmosphere. However, it's important to note that the surrounding community is struggling with poverty. It's best to exercise caution and avoid being out after dark unless accompanied by a reliable guide. It's a bittersweet reality, but the juxtaposition of the beach's natural beauty against the struggles of the local community is truly awe-inspiring.
The beach and its vibrant boardwalk were once a sight to behold, but it seems that its glory days are long gone. It's truly disheartening to witness the state of this beach, which is now covered in filth. Despite the high expectations I had based on the glowing reviews, I was thoroughly let down. The stench of sewage wafts up from beneath the boardwalk, and garbage is strewn about in every direction. It's a truly dismal sight.
The beach is undoubtedly beautiful, but unfortunately, it is temporarily closed due to the Covid situation. However, there are still some options available for beachgoers, such as the private beach in La MisiĂČn or La Salina and Puerto Nuevo.
