Playa Caracol is located on the Caribbean Sea (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 33th place out of 98 beaches in the Quintana Roo region The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

A significant part of the beach has a restricted access. The beach facilities are only available to hotel guests. The beach is rather petite and seems to be bustling with individuals from the surrounding hotels. Certain areas of the beach appear to be restricted as private property. Despite these minor setbacks, the beach is quite delightful for a refreshing swim and to indulge in some fun activities. The beach is maintained quite well and is relatively clean.

Avoid being caught in a predicament! The shoreline in question is reserved for hotel guests only. The Riu Hotel personnel exhibited discourtesy by evicting us from the beach, despite the fact that we were merely strolling by. The reason for this was because we had a different colored wristband from another hotel. It is perplexing how a hotel can claim ownership of a beach! This occurrence was extremely disheartening.
