Pena Hermosa is located on the Gulf of Mexico (part of North Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 28th place out of 66 beaches in the Veracruz region The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal blue water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Peña Hermosa is a stunning beach located in the municipality of Pajapan, Veracruz. It is a must-visit tourist destination, perfect for those seeking adventure and excitement. One of the highlights of this beach is the opportunity to climb the rock for free and enjoy a breathtaking view of the beach from the highest point. As you descend, take a leisurely stroll along the sandy shore, feeling the sand between your toes. You will eventually come across a unique formation of rocks that resemble a giant turtle, which also serves as a sanctuary for turtles in the region. The beach is also home to a freshwater lagoon, formed by the river arm that flows majestically through the area. Visitors can choose to either take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the beach or the refreshing lagoon. Peña Hermosa is truly a gem of a destination that offers something for everyone.

It's best to travel by van or take the bus from Pajapan due to the challenging access for small cars. This is an ideal spot to unwind and escape from the stresses of everyday life. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to relax and forget about everything.

For those seeking a more untouched and authentic beach experience, this location is a fantastic choice. The serene and unspoiled surroundings make it a worthwhile destination for any length of stay. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, I suggest visiting on a Monday to fully appreciate the peacefulness of the beach.

If you plan on driving a small car to the beach, be prepared for a bumpy ride. The 12 km dirt road is full of ups and downs, loose soil, and plenty of stones. However, the effort is worth it once you arrive. The view from the rock is breathtaking, but be warned that the terrain can be a bit hairy. If you plan on dining at the beach, be prepared to spend at least 700 for a table and 500 per kilo of shrimp, which is already cooked. Overall, the beach is a beautiful destination that requires patience and courage to reach.

The beach is truly a stunning location, living up to its name. There are options to rent palapas for $200, but there are also small shops available. Although the amenities are simple, they are very pleasant. I highly recommend arriving by van or renting a vehicle, as the terrain can be challenging for small cars due to its ups and downs, curves, and loose stones that make it difficult for tires to grip. However, once you arrive, the beauty of the place is undeniable. 😍
