Gyeokpo Haenomi Beach is located on the Sea of Japan (part of Pacific ocean) and it is in the 2th place out of 4 beaches in the North Jeolla region 26.5 km away from its center, the city of Buan-eup. It is one of the beaches of Gyeokpo-ri settlement, just 0.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a spacious bay with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Gyeokpo Haenomi Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, sun umbrellas, beach restaurant, changing rooms, showers, toilets. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

It has been quite some time since my last visit to the beach, and I must say that the transformation is remarkable. The amenities and surroundings have undergone significant improvements, and it appears that the quality of the beach is only getting better. The quarantine measures in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic are also quite stringent, ensuring the safety of all visitors. Although not many, I did observe a few individuals indulging in a refreshing swim in the sea. All in all, my trip down memory lane was a delightful experience.
