Rossa beach is located on the Tyrrhenian Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 157th place out of 192 beaches in the Livorno region 87.6 km away from its center, the city of Livorno. It is one of the beaches of Porto Azzurro settlement, just 0.2 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and light sand & pebble cover, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is quite sharp. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

The beach, supposedly maintained by the municipality of Porto Azzurro, is a cesspool of noxious odors emanating from fuel and sewage. The ban on bathing is a mere formality, as the water seems unfit for any kind of human activity. It is best to steer clear of this beach if you value your well-being and that of your offspring.

The commendable efforts of the Porto Azzurro municipality have resulted in the creation of a minuscule beach, which boasts of water so clear that it is deemed suitable for helium therapy. The provision of free deckchairs and umbrellas may seem like a generous gesture, but it fails to mask the fact that the beach is nothing more than a mundane and unremarkable destination. It is a place where one can go to unwind, but the lack of any noteworthy features or attractions makes it a rather unexciting experience. The beach is self-managed, which is a polite way of saying that it is left to its own devices, and its upkeep is not a priority.
