The beach marked on Maps as Cala Mandriola is actually Cala del Pisciatoio, which is connected to Cala dei Mangani by a path that descends through olive groves and holm oaks from the Amandolo restaurant. Despite its name, Cala del Pisciatoio is a wonderful, isolated place with transparent waters, although ships connecting Piombino to Portoferraio pass by frequently. Cala dei Mangani is even more beautiful and secluded, with the added bonus of the remains of a furnace on the cove. Unfortunately, the only downside is the abundance of garbage.
The beach can be easily accessed from both the old Trail bakery and the Amandolo path. The local children are working to make it more convenient for both walkers and cyclists.
This beach is truly wonderful and definitely worth a visit. While it may not be the easiest to reach, it is still doable as long as you don't have too many bulky items. The path leading to the beach is approximately 650 meters long and does pass through some areas with Mediterranean vegetation.
Great spot to catch a beautiful sunset, it's absolutely charming.
The beach is covered in stones and remnants of Poseidonia, and while the bathroom has a stunning blue background, it also has large white stones. Wearing rock shoes is a must. The beach isn't particularly well-known, partly due to the challenging path leading to it, so it's best to wear sneakers or flip-flops.
