Perfect 🥰
The sandy shoreline is absolutely stunning, however, as a group of four, we were advised to take two umbrellas instead of one. This suggestion seemed rather odd, especially since my siblings are constantly frolicking in the refreshing waves.
The sandy shore boasts of both a public and a secluded section, but do keep in mind that it requires a descent of several steps, which may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. However, the crystal-clear waters and occasional pockets of chilly currents within the sea make for a refreshing dip. Remember to bring along some water to hydrate and a bug spray to keep the pesky mosquitoes at bay.
The beach is undoubtedly breathtaking, but regrettably, it has been encroached upon by the hotel. This has resulted in a cramped space for individuals who are not guests of the hotel, with pedal boats and other equipment haphazardly placed, further reducing the already limited area. It is advisable to visit during the months of June, July, and September when the beach is relatively empty.
Maratea boasts one of the most splendid beaches I have ever laid my eyes on. If you happen to be a guest at Nonna Vincenza B&B, you can simply take a stroll and reach the beach within minutes. However, the free beach area is quite limited in terms of space. If you prefer a more spacious option, the hotel beach is a great alternative. The colors of this beach are truly captivating on a sunny day, and it's a sight that will leave you in awe. The seaside restaurant at the hotel is a must-try, especially for those who enjoy simple yet delicious seafood dishes. If you plan on driving to the beach, finding nearby parking can be quite challenging. In this case, opting for the hotel beach is a wise choice as it offers ample parking space.
