This beach resort in Italy is, without a doubt, the worst one I've ever stayed at in that price range. Food: We opted for the half-pension option, but I must say it's not up to par with even a highway motel. Be prepared to consume a lot of potatoes and rice, and don't expect to indulge in the typical regional delicacies. You'll spend a lot of time waiting in line and constantly chasing after the staff for plates and service. They are severely understaffed and it's clear that their main focus is maximizing profit. If you dare to ask for an extra sausage, you'll be met with questioning looks. The cake slices are so thin, they're practically transparent. It's not really a self-service setup, so you'll have to ask for everything, and with the low guest-to-staff ratio, you'll find yourself waiting for everything. Beach: The beach is filled with stones and the water is dirty. It's quite small and enclosed, which means that trash tends to linger around. Pool: The pool is nice but small, and you have to make a reservation to use it. It's located right next to the DJ, so you'll be subjected to non-stop music blasting at over 90 decibels. This brings me to the name of the place: Baia del Silenzio (Bay of Silence). Ironically, there's a DJ or animator constantly on the microphone, interrupting the loud music with announcements, including the resort's theme song. Whether you're at the beach, pool, or cafe, you can't escape the noise. The App: You're required to use their app for all payments, but it's clunky, buggy, and slows down the staff. It's far less convenient than using contactless credit cards or your phone. To make matters worse, you have to go to the reception to load it with your credit card or refill it with cash at specific points of purchase. Rooms: The rooms are furnished cheaply and the AC unit is extremely noisy. There were also missing items, such as chairs, glasses, and cups, which we had to repeatedly request. Some of the requested items never even arrived, even after making three phone calls. The only positive aspect is that the staff who handle kids' animations are doing a great job. I definitely won't be returning to this place.
This beach is a fantastic destination for families. The swimming pool is perfect for capturing memorable photos, and there are plenty of opportunities for sea activities like kayaking and catamaran rides. Additionally, the beach is easily accessible by public transportation. The children particularly enjoy the simplicity of the caravans. If you plan on cooking or making tea/coffee, it's recommended to bring a lighter, oil, salt, and pepper. The caravans are equipped with a small fridge, as well as utensils such as spoons, forks, plates, and glasses. If needed, there is a mini market on-site where you can purchase food. In the evenings, there is entertainment provided. This beach is available for visits from June to September, according to my understanding.
DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR FOREIGN TOURISTS! Our stay at this beach resort was the worst lodging experience we had during our entire trip in Italy. The staff, with the exception of one waiter, does not speak English and is ill-equipped to handle foreign tourists. They even become aggressive when someone doesn't understand their instructions. Additionally, their developed App is only available in Italian and cannot be changed to another language. They show no concern for or implementation of any COVID protocols. Our Green Pass was never checked, and our temperature was never taken. The swimming pool is extremely crowded with children and individuals who do not respect social distancing or adhere to swimming pool reservations. Apart from the swimming pool area, the infrastructure is old and outdated. The activities offered are limited and uninteresting, and they are conducted solely in Italian. There is only one show per night, such as the Kids Dance, followed by cheap entertainment provided by the same staff. The food is of very poor quality, and the wine served is cheap and obtained from a juice dispenser. Even the breakfast is subpar. After staying for one night, we requested a full refund, which they initially refused to provide until we threatened to involve our lawyer. The nightly rate exceeds 170€, not to mention the additional beach taxes they impose. This exorbitant price is completely unjustified and does not align with the aforementioned problems.
Hi... Baia del Silenzio is an incredible destination for a family or friends' getaway. This place provides exceptional care for you and your loved ones, with a highly attentive and friendly staff. The food, restaurant, beach, and services are all excellent. I highly recommend taking your time to enjoy a wonderful holiday at Baia Del Silenzio. I am definitely coming back without a doubt!
The beach is really great, but there are a few downsides. The location is absolutely beautiful. However, if you're looking for a quiet place, Silenzio might not be the best choice. There is a lot of music playing in the morning on the beach and later in the village. The food is mostly good, but sometimes it's not great. Just remember that it's not like agriturismo. Seafood options are usually better than meat. Don't expect to find many vegetables for breakfast, as it's more of a Nutella country. However, they make up for it with a variety of antipasti options in the evening. The beach is dog friendly, but there were fireworks at night twice, so keep that in mind if your dog is sensitive to loud noises. The shuttle service to Plinuro or the train station is extremely expensive, so it's probably better to come with a car. The whole place is managed by a person named Pharaoh, who is a bit crazy, but who cares when you're on vacation, right? The baby dance was fantastic for kids, with professional dancers and a DJ. Have a great time!
