Rajbag Beach

The beach is absolutely stunning, boasting serene and tranquil waters, pristine white sands, and a complete lack of crowds. Nestled in the southernmost corner of South Goa, this beach is a true haven for nature lovers. The Tapona river flows gently into the sea at one end of the beach, while a rocky cliff separates it from Paltem beach at the other end. The highlight of the beach is undoubtedly the breathtaking sunset that can be enjoyed in complete peace and quiet. A morning walk along the beach is equally delightful. There are a few shacks available at Paltem beach, but they tend to be frequented by overseas visitors. This beach is not ideal for those seeking a lively atmosphere in Goa. It is a private beach owned by Lalit, which means that it is exceptionally clean and lacks the typical shacks and restaurants found on other beaches. There is only one restaurant on the beach and a few juice stalls, but they are more expensive than other places in Goa. Additionally, the beach is relatively empty, making it perfect for those who want to relax and take some great pictures. However, if you are looking for a more vibrant beach experience, this may not be the best choice.

The beach is accessible through The Lalits Spa and Resort Golf club, with a road leading to it. It's a great spot to visit in the early morning, and during my visit, there were only a few people around due to the limited amenities available. The waves were quite loud at night, likely due to the deeper waters.

The northern part of the beach is reserved for the turtles, giving it the nickname "Turtle Beach." It is one of the three places in Goa where these turtles come to lay their eggs, making it a unique and special place to visit. Rajbag beach is situated on the banks of the Galgibag river, about 56 km away from Colva and 54 km away from Margao. The best time to visit this beach is during the winter months from October to March when the weather is pleasant and the sea is calm. However, even during the summer months, the beach is a great place to relax and unwind. During the monsoon season, the beach is less frequented due to the rough seas and inclement weather. Overall, Rajbag beach is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Goa. It is a peaceful and beautiful beach that deserves to be kept clean and preserved for future generations to enjoy.
