Mikri Vlychada is located on the Aegean Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 689th place out of 1022 beaches in the South Aegean region 108.6 km away from its center, the city of Ermoupoli. It is one of the beaches of Tholaria settlement, just 0.9 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand & rocks cover, so it is highly recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season.

The path leading to this cove is quite scenic and only challenging for those who are elderly or not physically fit. I managed to traverse it wearing water shoes. However, the water appears to be extremely turbulent and doesn't seem safe for swimming. If your intention is to find a peaceful spot to read, then this beach is perfect, but swimming might not be the best option.

The path leading to the shore may take around 30 minutes to traverse, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the journey downhill. The terrain is expert-level, so be ready for a challenge. The beach was absolutely beautiful! It took us around 30 minutes to walk there from town, and there were some pretty steep parts along the way. However, the effort was totally worth it. We went there at around 5pm in September after a long walk, and to our surprise, we had the entire beach to ourselves!
