Although there may be a considerable amount of washed-up debris on the beach, it is not noticeable when you're gazing out at the sea. Additionally, it's worth noting that the beach has free public access.
This beach in Skiathos is stunningly beautiful, but unfortunately it has a significant issue with plastic waste. However, it's worth noting that this beach is accessible to the public for free. I even reached out to the official Skiathos Instagram page to bring attention to the plastic problem.
To reach the beach, a 15-minute hike is required from the end of the road or track, which can be easily identified by following the red and white painted markers. Although the path down can be steep at times, it is always clear and feels relatively safe. Unfortunately, a significant amount of waste and debris was washed up on the shore, as can be seen in the photos. While the beach is intriguing, I believe it is much more aesthetically pleasing when viewed from above. There are numerous other beaches on the island that are cleaner and more attractive.
My favorite beach in Skiathos requires a short hike to reach it. While it may be a bit difficult to access, the upside is that for a significant portion of the day, my companions and I were the only ones on the beach, which was lovely. There are no bars, so it's a good idea to bring snacks and water. Additionally, there is no shade, so it's essential to bring an umbrella.
Although it's quite a challenge to get to, the beach offers a breathtaking view that's definitely worth the effort. Plus, it's great that there's no entrance fee for the public to enjoy it.
