Marathias beach is located on the Aegean Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 243th place out of 367 beaches in the Central Macedonia region 114.6 km away from its center, the city of Thessaloniki. It is one of the beaches of Porto Koufo settlement, just 2.7 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains.

It is a small bay with crystal blue water and bright sand, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is not crowded place during the season. Please note that the area nearby is possible for wild camping.

Really remote beach that is only accessible by driving a dust road for 3km. Only some local ppl populate the beach and ships from the sea. Its a really nice and quiet place for the ones.who despise the hotel beach bars that clutter the coast.

Great place, silent, not crowded at all, even in full season. Road only for 4x4 or vehicles with good ground clearance. Beach is sandy, clean, unmanaged (no shower, beach bar, etc. ) Water ins excellent for kids, very shallow and no waves, soft sand on bottom, no rocks at all.

Beautiful looking beach, but the water was pretty dirty when we where there (foamy). Access road is difficult, and most space on the beach is taken up by locals with tents. Might be much better at high tide.
