South beach is located on the Mediterranean Sea and it is in the 114th place out of 197 beaches in the Var region 38.6 km away from its center, the city of Toulon. It is one of the beaches of Heliopolis settlement, just 5.7 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and white sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. Moreover, this beach is popular with naturists.

This idyllic beach is a haven for marine life enthusiasts, who can enjoy the company of 80cm gilthead seabreams and schools of oblades without the need for a mask or snorkel. However, be mindful of jellyfish lurking in the waters.

The journey from the harbor to the beach is a challenging one, as the pathway is steep and uneven, with narrow passages and obstacles like rocks and roots that can make it a bit of a trek. It takes a minimum of 35 minutes to traverse the trail on foot, but the stunning vistas along the way make it all worthwhile. You'll be treated to breathtaking views of cliffs and trees as you make your way towards the beach, which is truly a paradise on earth. The water is crystal clear and warm, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. You'll be able to spot all sorts of marine life, even with just basic gear. The sand is soft and inviting, and the whole place has an almost magical quality, especially in the evenings when it's quiet and peaceful.
