4 Frustrating

Apart from the nice view there was nothing good about our stay there really. In the rooms, there was no wifi, no power plugs and no hot water. In the restaurant (in which you kind of have to eat as there’s nothing else in the area) there was not a lot of choice, the portions were small and the food was not great either. On top of that was the stuff really unprofessional.

10 Exceptional

Amazing place This place is all you looking for in the peninsula of Osa. Both in the jungle and next to the pacific ocean, the lodge and the personnel make this place a paradise. Among all the delicious stuff like the cocktails, the included breakfast and the food, the best things for me was to wake up with animals all around us (lapas, sloth, white face monkey, tucan and more) without even mooving from our lodge or the main deck. The night walk in the jungle from Jenny is also a must to do if you want an insolite experience  and to really feel the jungle. Last, if you are looking to do snorkeling to isla del cano, the lodge is only 40mn away by boat. Thanks for all your attention and kindness, hope we will be able to come again Loïc

10 Exceptional

We are family of 3 and we have stayed in Punta Marengo for the second time and we will definitely come back there. After the pandemic place changed a bit but the location for the nature lovers and amazing beaches is the same. We have missed Oskar the guide but Jessica did everything she could to make our stay as pleased as possible. The chef is fantastic and she was cooking some great dishes for us. Highly recommended place!

10 Exceptional

This place was rustic and amazing. We stayed in a grass roof style hut, with a nice balcony on the mountain side and a great view of the ocean. It was amazing to see the wildlife pass our hut each morning and evening as they navigated the jungle and the coastline. The experience is not resort like at all, but if you really want to see the best wildlife in Costa Rica, this is the way. The food was great, the internet was available for a couple hours a day when they would turn the power on at the common area.

4 Frustrating

I read some reviews on the poor side in TripAdvisor and although dated 2016 and before I must confirm they are still valid in 2020 rigarding the level of organization. The management and staff are pleasant people and the location is extremely beautiful especially if you have a bungalow 1 to 7 facing the ocean and enjoying the sunset (Beware the noise of the jungle and the ocean waves, you may need earplugs, and yes, there is no choice on the menu a part from 3 choices for breakfast. Lunch and dinner are the same for everyone but me and my friend liked the food). Walking distance you have access to several nice beaches and a natural reserve if you want to venture there but that's it. Since the tours organized by the Lodge are poorly managed if expect to see Corcovado park you can experience surprises. In our case our tour was delayed of one day and the day of the tour we were in 8, two of which (we learnt only once at the park) had to leave earlier so the rest of us missed a good quarter of the tour. Since spotting wildlife is very unpredictable we may have missed nothing or a lot, we will never know. The communication before the tour did not specify this and we received as explication that there was a miscommunication between the tour operator and the guide but no apologies nor compensation. In short, given that the main purpose to go all the way to Corcovado is for seeing the park, spending the days at this Lodge is almost pointless (a part from beaches and sunset). If you really want to stay there better check with other tour operators in Drake bay whether they do pick ups from the Lodge. I don't recommend the tours proposed by the lodge.
