Playa Pez Vela is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 51th place out of 233 beaches in the Costa Rica region 192.9 km away from its center, the city of San Jose. It is one of the beaches of Ocotal settlement, just 0.6 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and gray sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Playa Pez Vela coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas. .

The tranquil beach is a suitable destination for those seeking a peaceful day out with their little ones and elderly folks. However, the ocean's waves were a tad bit aggressive, and the only saving grace was the availability of a shower facility at the exit. The parking lot was spacious enough to accommodate a considerable number of vehicles. We found it to be an acceptable spot for our beach day.

This beach is a true hidden gem! The sunsets are absolutely serene and breathtaking. The dark volcanic sand creates a unique contrast against the crystal clear water, resulting in a magical display of colors during sunset. Not only is this beach perfect for swimming, but it also offers incredible hiking opportunities. Additionally, the nearby resort boasts gorgeous gardens that are a must-see. You won't regret spending time at this stunning beach!
