I was absolutely enamored with this vast expanse of beach. It offers the perfect chance for leisurely strolls along the flat sandy shore, all while being serenaded by the soothing sound of the waves crashing onto the shore. The beach is also home to a variety of fascinating wildlife, including pelicans, terns, sandpipers, and even sloths. And let's not forget about the adorable and friendly jungle dogs that call this beach their home.

This charming beach stretch is conveniently located just a short 5-10 minute stroll from the Riu Palace/Riu Guanacaste. Don't be surprised if you spot some mischievous monkeys frolicking in the trees near the Monkey Bar! We took a leisurely walk around 4pm and were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of monkeys and the amazing photo opportunities. I highly recommend Xochilt (pronounced 'Sushi)' and Florys, two delightful ladies who operate a massage service on this beach. After discovering the exorbitant prices at the RIU palace, my partner and I stumbled upon these lovely ladies and booked a couple's massage on the beach at an unbeatable price! I can confidently say that it was one of the best massages I've ever had! Xochilt and Florys were exceptional, and I wish I could bring them back home with me to Canada as my personal masseuses! If you're staying at one of the RIU

This beach boasts stunning views and is covered in natural volcanic sand, making it a must-see for anyone who loves wildlife and exploring nature. While it's primarily used by guests of the RIU resorts, the public can access it via dirt roads and hiking trails. If you're able to visit, make sure to catch it during low tide to see the unique rock formations on the North end and the expansive coral bed on the South end, which are hidden during the rest of the day. This beach may not be winning any awards for cleanliness or beauty, but hey, it's still a beach. And if you're looking for a spot to take the little ones where they won't get swept away by monstrous waves, this is the place. Plus, if you're feeling adventurous (or just want to show off for your Instagram followers), you can rent a Jet Ski for a cool $40. And if you're staying at Hotel Riu, you're in luck - you can take advantage of their free kayak rental for an hour. And if you're feeling really fancy, there are plenty of local tour companies willing to take your money in exchange for some fun in the sun.
