I love this beach so much that I keep returning, especially now that there are more artsy coffee shops and restaurants in the area. It's a great spot for a long weekend getaway with a nice atmosphere and an even better beach. Plus, it's only a 90-minute train ride from Taipei, so it's quite popular. Just make sure to book your accommodations well in advance, especially during holidays. There's a free beach by the temple that's really cool, though it can get crowded at times. However, there's plenty of sand to lay your towels on and enjoy the ocean. On the other side, there's a paid beach that's also beautiful, but you have to enter from a different direction. You'll need to head towards Fullon Hotel Fulong and walk along the side to get there. My friend and I paid either 50 or 100 NTD to get in. You'll have to cross a bridge to get to the beach, and sometimes there's a section with amazing sand sculptures that you can view and take photos of.
Fulung Beach, situated on Taiwan's north-east coast, is reputedly the top beach resort on the island. With its picturesque mountainous backdrop, Fulung Beach boasts a charming setting that makes it ideal for leisurely strolls along the shore. It takes about an hour to get to Fulung Beach from Taipei. However, the water quality can be inconsistent.
The beach near Taipei is simply stunning and conveniently located. The addition of house music near the beach completely transformed the atmosphere, making for an amazing weekend at Fulong.
This beach in Taiwan is absolutely beautiful and well-maintained. I always enjoy visiting this spot and appreciate the option to rent an umbrella if needed.
I believe this is the only beach in Taipei, and it's a great option for those living in the high-tech city. However, it's about a 1.5 hour drive from Taipei bus station, which makes it a good choice for a day trip. Due to COVID-19, the beach is limiting the number of visitors to ensure social distancing. When I visited, there was a FULONG international sandwich sculpture art festival, featuring amazing giant sand sculptures, including those from PIXAR productions. Admission fees apply, and tickets include a drink and a bag of Doritos. You can bring camping gear and other swimming essentials to enjoy with your family. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. Happy vacation!
